Vanilla Banana Herbalife Shake Recipe: Formula 1 Preparation Guide

To make a vanilla banana Herbalife shake, blend one label-directed serving of U.S. Formula 1 French Vanilla with 8 fluid ounces of nonfat milk, half a banana and ice. The banana adds flavor and texture; it does not replace the milk or the shake mix.

This one-serving recipe idea is for adults and uses the standard French Vanilla product. It has not been kitchen-tested by HerbalPeak. Check your own container before preparing it: Formula 1 Instant, Select and products sold in other countries can have different directions.

Vanilla banana shake ingredients

Makes: 1 serving. Equipment: blender, measuring cup and the product scoop or a kitchen scale.

How to make it

  1. Check the serving and preparation directions on your container. Gently shake the closed canister before opening, as the powder can settle.
  2. Pour the measured milk into the blender. Add the shake mix, banana, ice and cinnamon if using.
  3. Blend on low, then increase speed as needed until the banana and ice are broken down. Stop the blender before scraping its sides.
  4. Pour into one glass and enjoy promptly. Follow your blender's instructions for ice and frozen ingredients.

The preparation base follows the manufacturer-hosted U.S. French Vanilla label: two scoops with eight fluid ounces of nonfat milk or soy milk. The banana and cinnamon quantities are HerbalPeak's recipe variation. The referenced label is version L3106US-14; your current container takes priority if its directions differ.

How can I change the texture?

For a thicker shake, freeze the measured banana slices before blending instead of adding more powder. Use a blender designed for frozen food. For a less icy shake, leave out the ice. Keep the milk and product serving measured so a texture adjustment does not accidentally become a second serving.

Questions before you blend

Can I use soy milk?

The referenced U.S. directions allow soy milk as an alternative to nonfat dairy milk. Use the same eight-fluid-ounce amount and check the beverage's label. Switching the liquid changes the finished recipe's nutrition.

Can I use almond milk or water instead?

Do not assume that almond milk or water gives the same preparation or nutrition as the milk-based recipe above. Herbalife's U.S. preparation article discusses milk alternatives and a separate water-based combination using Protein Drink Mix: Vanilla. That is a different recipe: follow both products' current labels rather than substituting water into this one.

Is this shake dairy-free or vegan?

No. The referenced standard French Vanilla powder contains milk and soy, and this recipe also uses dairy milk. Soy milk does not remove the milk ingredients already in the powder. A different product requires its own ingredient and preparation check.

How many calories and grams of protein are in it?

We have not calculated a total for this variation. The banana, milk brand and optional cinnamon affect the result. Nutrition printed for the powder or a plain prepared shake should not be presented as the total for this banana recipe. If you track nutrition, weigh your ingredients and use each ingredient's current label or a reliable food database.
